Original Equipment Manufacturer of the Counterbalance Lifting Device
Counterbalance modular torsion spring system is designed to take all the effort out of lifting and supporting lids, covers, countertops and electro-mechanical equipment. By carefully controlling the release of spring energy to precisely counteract the pull of gravity, the system does much more than just hold the lid open. It exactly balances the load in every intermediate position as well.
"“Our store is small and therefore requires that we utilize all available space. The newly installed Lift-A-SYST counterbalance is an excellent solution that provides us with a movable counter that is effortless to use and controls access to our cooking area. The countertop door gives us an additional seven square feet of counter space for either preparation or display."

COUNTERTOP WORKSHEET.xlsx
CB 111 is best suited for light applications and is the smallest Counterbalance manufactured. The CB 111 has a tube diameter of ⅜ inch and typical weight ranges from 2 to 17 lbs. Uses include access panels for controls and small supply doors. Many CB 111's are used on tabletop machines and appliances in laboratories, professional offices and medical centers. Industrial uses include test equipment, laser and ink markers. The CB 111 is available in black and chrome finish and with custom mounting brackets for ease of installation. The CB 111 can be designed to act as a hinge, helping eliminate additional hardware in most applications.
CB 160 has a tube dimension of ⅝5/8 inch, allowing light, commercial range use. The CB 160 can be used for office equipment, light duty industrial applications and demonstration kits. The tube is commonly black oxide or black paint and configured using two arms and two cams. The CB 160 is available accessorized with sheet metal mounting brackets and can act as the hinge mechanism in most applications. Typical lengths of the CB 160 are from 6 to 24 inches.
The CB 222 is used to hold this computer screen upwards in a showroom at The Merchandise Mart in Chicago.
CB 222 consists of a ⅞7/8 inch tube, with lengths ranging from 8 to 24 inches. Greater lengths of tube accommodate heavier weights tolerated by the application. Several arm variations are available on the CB 222 allowing for custom installations. Parts can be chrome or black in either aluminum or steel. The CB 222 can also be stacked and mounted as a "Twin" counterbalance, in instances where limited space is restricting the length. This unit is currently used in the food service industry, commercial and office industries. An adjuster is available and designed into the CB 222 allowing for on-site adjustments and tuning.
Features:
CB 251 has a 1-1/8⅛ inch aluminum tube and is ideal for heavy applications. Uses for the CB 251 include: commercial and industrial machinery; including printers, assembly equipment, lab equipment and lasers. This counterbalance has a variety of arm options available and can also act as a hinge to replace existing pivot hardware. The CB 251 can also handle moderate weights and is available with mounting accessories to meet the needs of most applications.
CB 318 is available in two diameters: a 1-3/8"⅜ aluminum tube or 1-1/4" steel tube. The length of the tube can vary from 8 to 60 inches, with the longer tube capable of heavier weight bearing loads. The CB 318 has a separate anchor arm allowing torque adjustment up to 5 degrees. This counterbalance can be stacked to accommodate greater weight in many applications. Primary uses for the CB 318 are: heavy doors in vehicles, industrial and commercial applications.
The CB 500 holds open two 100+ lb. doors in an Armored Security Vehicle
CB 500 is designed to lift covers and housings in the most demanding applications. Built in several rod configurations, the CB 500 is designed to lift weights ranging from 150 to 2000 lbs. Currently, the CB 500 is used in military vehicles, in-ground access hatches, and large process equipment covers. This counterbalance provides maximum versatility. Adjusters are available and capable of varying +/- 20 percent of the cover weight.
